POST OP CAT CASTRATE ADVICE

Your Pet has today been castrated under a general anaesthetic. It is important that you follow these guidelines to ensure Your Pet has a speedy recovery.

• Allow Your Pet to rest in a warm, quiet place tonight.

• Feed a small bland meal this evening such as boiled chicken or fish as a heavy meal could cause vomiting. He can return to his normal diet tomorrow.

• Keep Your Pet inside for 3 days to allow the surgical wound to heal and the effects of the anaesthetic to wear off.

• Your Pet will have been given pain medication prior to his surgery which will last for 24hrs and this is normally sufficient. However, if you feel that he is in any discomfort after this please contact the surgery.

POST OPERATIVE CHECK

• Please bring Your Pet back to the surgery in 3 days time for a check up. Check ups at the surgery are included in the cost of the operation however, any additional medication will incur a charge.

IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS ABOUT YOUR PET PLEASE CONTACT THE SURGERY IMMEDIATELY. TEL: 01752 700600 OR 01752 690999
