Lorraine has worked for Woodlands since March 1999 having started as a receptionist, moving on to nursing and currently as a Practice Manager. She gained a Diploma in Management after taking her ILM level 5 Diploma through UMD Professional. Loraine has always been involved with animals since learning to ride at the age of four and qualifying as a riding instructor in 1994. Outside of work she lives with her partner, who is a wildlife artist, ornithologist and experienced Falconer. She has an ever increasing collection of animals, from a cat, four dogs to falcons, owls and hawks.
Head of Pharmacy
Dot is a qualified pharmacy dispenser and has worked in community pharmacy since 2013. She joined the team here at Woodlands in October 2016, mixing her pharmacy role with her love for animals works perfectly. She lives with her family including three dogs which they love to go for walks and have adventures on the moors and the beaches. In my spare time Dot enjoys reading, cycling, eating out with friends, yoga and meditation.
Mary joined the team in October 2016. After graduating from Exeter University in 2008 she worked in publishing including an equestrian magazine. She grew up with animals and has always been interested in veterinary. In her free time Mary loves to cook, run and swim and enjoy the beautiful Devon countryside with her two dogs, Piglet and Dama.
Tracie has worked at the Plymouth branch of Woodlands since 2002 on reception and also helps to run the puppy socialisation classes with a colleague. Tracie loves doing anything “outdoorsy” but one of her main passions is skiing.
After graduating from Exeter University with an Honours Degree in Sociology, Hayley worked for a Pneumatics company in engineering sales and purchasing. She has always been passionate about animals so when a receptionist position became available in 2012 at Woodlands she jumped at the chance. Needless to say Hayley absolutely loves her job and has never looked back. Hayley loves the people contact just as much as meeting all their wonderful pets. Outside of work Hayley is a busy mum of two daughters, they have a cat called George who they love and adore very much, even though he can be rather feisty at times.
Jane has been a receptionist at Woodlands since July 2001. Although I like to think of myself as a very experienced receptionist, every day brings a new challenge! Jane moved to Ivybridge in 1988 and lives with her family. She loves to be outside exploring all the amazing towns and countryside in the South West and appreciating what we have on our doorstep and also being at home and in her garden. Over the years Jane has built up quite a menagerie of at present she has one dog, two cats, one guinea pig and two tortoises.
Jo has been working as a veterinary receptionist for many years and joined the team in November 2004. In her spare time she enjoys relaxing with family and spending time with her two cats Jacob and Solomon.
Kelly joined the Woodlands family in 2006; she enjoys being part of an amazing team of professionals and loves how varied her job can be from day to day. Outside of work Kelly loves spending time with my family and friends and has a lot of varied interests which keeps her busy. Kelly has one cat who came into the practice through the RSPCA and decided that she would make a good owner!
Hilary joined Woodlands in September 2016. On turning 50 she decided it was about time she worked in a place where she had always wanted to and a job that didn’t feel like work Hilary enjoys all of the daily puppy cuddles and has a passion for Springer Spaniels.
Karen has worked at Woodlands since June 2010. She enjoys meeting all of the pets and their owners. At home Karen lives with her family and has two old cats, a Labrador and a tortoise.
Ruth joined Woodlands in June 2010 working part-time. She has previously worked as a dog trainer at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and trained as an animal physiotherapist with the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists. Ruth runs her own animal physiotherapy business part-time http://www.physio-fit-k9.co.uk. Ruth has a Border Terrier called Haggis, and two beautiful Ragdoll cross cats, Magic and Merlin.
Caroline has worked at the Plymouth branch of Woodlands since 2008. Prior to working here she worked with young children, very similar, interesting and often unpredictable! In her spare time Caroline enjoys making things with stained glass, gardening, walking and spending time with friends and family. She has an adorable pedigree British Short Hair cat that needed rehoming.
Tina is a part-time receptionist at Ivybridge; she enjoys the day to day contact with the animals and owners alike. The job does have a downside as it would be very easy to increase the family dramatically with the four legged variety; she took on an unwanted cat and would love more. Tina has settled in Ivybridge with her family close by.
Marie has worked at Woodlands since January 2015 as the administrator for both practices. She has a major passion for so it’s good to say that she enjoys her job and is honoured to work with a fantastic team who all share her passion for animals. Marie lives in Plymouth with her family and ever extending menagerie, including two very large Dobermans, five cats, one rabbit and four fish tanks, so she is kept very busy! On the rare occasion she has any spare time Marie enjoys socialising, spending time with her family, shopping and horse riding.
